Wisconsin Animal Shelters, Humane Societies and Sanctuaries

Welcome to Animal Friendly Wisconsin-(WI)

Here you will find Animal Shelters, Humane Societies and Sanctuaries in the WI area.

Helllllloooooooooo Wisconsin........

Why Wisconsin you ask?

The mid-west is well known for large puppy mills and in 2009 new laws were put on the legislation table to be viewed. The pet overpopulation crisis and puppy mills are a huge issue when it comes to animal welfare.

Wisconsin and the mid-west have tried hard to fight these battles, and it looks like maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel..........

The mid-west is having a direct impact on animals everywhere, so THANK YOU WISCONSIN!!!!!

In the News

On 1 December 2009, Gov. Doyle signed AB-250 into effect. The new 2009 Wisconsin Law 90 requires licensing and inspection for breeders, retailers, shelters and pounds that sell or transfer at least 25 dogs a year. The new law will take effect June 1, 2011. We need to wait that long mainly because during the year and a half wait new standards of care must be written and additional personnel must be hired and trained to enforce them.

How nice does that sound?

Imagine a poor homeless, abandoned, sick animal taken to "Apple River"?

Wishing all unwanted animals could end up here, HUH?
