Animals Shelter Me is a website I started after I found a dog with BIG BROWN EYES. The picture above you is the reason for this site. Beautiful, yet sad, those eyes tell a story of a stray PIT-BULL who I found and gave a home. His name is, Lewis.

I found Lewis wandering through a snowstorm on a brutally cold winter day. He was limping, emaciated and terrified. I thought maybe someone lost him so I took him to my local "pound" and thought his owner would come get him. Much to my surprise NO ONE CLAIMED THIS POOR FELLA!!!

Why was this poor dog walking in a blizzard while freezing and starving? What has our world come to? No body owns this poor guy?

Finding Lewis left me heart-broken, powerless and confused. I could not imagine why a dog would be left out in the cold. Who could do such a thing?

I had so many questions without answers. So....I searched for the answers, but I did not like what I had found.

Pictures speak a thousand words, and needless to say there is a HUGE problem in our animal world!!! They need our help, our voice, and our helping hands!!

I found and adopted Lewis, brought him home, tucked him in after a huge meal, gave him lots of hugs and warm blankets. I then sat next to him with my LAP TOP in hand.

I searched the web, read books, bookmarked websites, joined Facebook, joined Twitter, read Blogs, volunteered, donated and clicked links and more links. I found so many things we can do to help the homeless, stray, lost, abandoned, abused and hungry. NOW I WANT TO PAY IT FORWARD.
