Hello, and welcome to my site where I hope you can learn, laugh or take a break from your hectic life. I hope to make a difference in the life of animals so they can live in a world of peace with no fear of torture or danger. To live in a loving, caring home with food, shelter and a warm place to sleep every night.
The name of my site "Animals Shelter Me" is a way of saying, "MY ANIMALS HELP KEEP ME SANE". Did you ever have a day where everything goes wrong and you want to scream?
Rush hour traffic, red lights, pouring rain, horns honking "UGH"........slow drivers, teenage drivers, old men with hats, mini van drivers...
Finally home, into the driveway, pick up the packages from the grocery store, open the car door....and
CRASH...the milk falls out smashes onto the driveway, milk everywhere!!!!!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK....
BUT
As I place my keys in the front door I hear thump, nails scratching on the wooden floor..."boom, boom, boom", down the stairs....I open the door and BAM he jumps up and licks me then proceeds to run around in circles... he is so excited to see me that he pee's on the floor a little bit....
I LOVE COMING HOME TO HIM!!
As I bend down and kiss his nose then rub his belly for a minute I can actually feel my body start to RELAX. Hello Bruce I say....
NO IT IS NOT MY HUSBAND...........It is my dog
Looking into his eyes it is sad to know that not all dogs have a home. Not all pets have the luxury of sleeping in a loving home with food and water. Dogs are being abused, cats are tortured and it needs to stop.
Was there ever a moment in your life when something just clicked or you said to yourself "enough is enough" things need to change now? Well my moment was when I saw this ASPCA television commercial for the first time. I just sat there and cried. Watching the eyes of those poor animals who were sitting in animal shelters, emaciated, sad and lonely just wishing they had a home. Dogs and cats are being abused, tortured or killed. WHY???
I cannot believe we live in a world where animals are being treated so inhumane. I knew immediately I had to do something, but what? I jumped on my laptop and started to research and educate myself. In doing so I learned so much that I felt the need to share this with you, the public, animal lovers or anyone who wants to help.
ANIMALS NEED OUR HELP ~ EDUCATION IS THE KEY
Educating ourselves on the issues at hand may be the key in helping our animals live in a more humane world.
NEVER BUY A DOG ~ ADOPT one or save one from a shelter like I did with my pit bull, Lewis. You will be saving more than one life and in the process help close down puppy mills and pet stores.
According to the Humane Society of the United States four million cats and dogs—about one every eight seconds—are put down in U.S. shelters each year.
EDUCATING ourselves on the many issues at hand may help reduce these numbers. Please browse through my site and see how you can help.
Lets all do our part by EDUCATING OURSELVES AND PEOPLE AROUND US!!
